About this event

Love Serving Autism - Community Collaborative Pickleball Program

This program requires approval by a UCF CARD Autism Disorders Specialist to make sure the program is a good fit for your child and your child is a good fit for the program.

Children ages 7-18 with Autism Spectrum Disorders will engage in fitness, hand-eye coordination, communication, and life skill activities on a Pickleball court

Location: USTA National Campus10000 USTA Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827

Meeting dates: Thursday, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26, June 2, June 9

Time: 5:15PM - 6:00PM (45 minute lesson)

PALS is subsidizing UCF CARD Constituents: $25

UCF CARD Constituent Cost: $35

Total Cost for 6 lessons: $60

Please note: This program is a community collaboration with Love Serving Autism. Credit card refunds aren’t available, (check is our only option at this time).

Criteria: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD MEETS THIS CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE

  • Your child can listen, learn and follow through with directions, rules and then apply them.
  • Your child can pay attention during training, wait his/her turn and comprehend basic rules of the games.
  • Your child can change directions while running and understand left/right direction along with forward/backward.
  • Your child can get through practice/game with limited redirection.
  • Your child can respond positively to coaching, as well as instructions and guidance from teammates.
  • Your child has functional communication skills.
  • Your child does not have physical or verbal aggressive behavior and is in a good state of mind.
  • Your child does not require 1:1 support

If a participant requires high support to be successful in the program he/she may be released from this program and possibly be suggested to be a candidate for another program.
